At the Knit Design Centre, designers work alongside Stoll GB's expert technicians to develop and realise their design ideas.
Equipped with the latest Stoll M1 design and programming systems from 1.5 to 16 gauges, the Knit Design Centre team run a full finishing department including point-to-point linking and all general sewing operations, alongside our state-of-the-art washing plant.
Who’s who
Julio – our Design Centre Manager – is a highly qualified programmer with more than 30 years’ experience in the industry. He oversees the studio and the adjacent Stoll machine showroom.
Florina is our Programming Technician and has been at the Knit Design Centre for over three years. During that time, she’s amassed a great deal of knowledge and enjoys being tested by designers’ new ideas.
Our Design Centre Coordinator Sarah keeps the team on track, schedules all the consultations and designer sessions and ensures that every designer’s stay with us is successful and productive. Sarah’s also training to be a programmer.
Tony, our Senior Technician and Product Developer, has over 30 years’ experience in the industry and is an expert in all aspects of knitting machinery. He’s got a strong commercial eye and will ensure products are fit for production and the commercial world.
Blessed with the dying art of point-to-point linking, Eirini is a key member of the Knit Design Centre team. Her skills give designers’ creations that much sought-after high-end finish.
Dave’s the owner and Managing Director and has been involved in the textiles industry for over 20 years. The Knit Design Centre was his brainchild and he’s keen to work with designers with fresh ideas.
Based in the heart of the knitting industry in Leicester city centre, our services include:

Book a consultation
Each designer’s consultation is tailored to their specific brief and covering a range of topics including programming, yarn selection, pattern structure, swatches and sampling.
Come and visit us for two to three hours to see the studio in action, take a look at our library, make some swatches and plan your own project with their experts.
Training
Alongside our one-to-one knitwear development sessions, we run knitwear training courses to teach designers and retailers the basics of knitting technology and knitwear sample development from our in-house experts.
